The Ultimate Care Guide for Your Dazi Jewelry

At Dazi, we create timeless, high-quality jewelry designed to elevate your everyday style. Our pieces are crafted from 18K PVD gold-plated stainless steel, with select designs featuring cubic zirconia stones for added brilliance. While our jewelry is made to be durable and tarnish-resistant, proper care is essential to maintain its beauty for years to come. Follow these simple yet effective tips to keep your pieces looking as stunning as the day you got them.

What is 18K PVD Gold-Plated Stainless Steel?

Our jewelry is made with 18K PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) gold plating over stainless steel, offering a long-lasting, high-quality finish that resists tarnish and fading better than traditional gold plating. PVD plating bonds the gold layer to the stainless steel through a vacuum process, making it more durable and wear-resistant than standard electroplating. This means you get the luxurious look of gold with enhanced longevity and everyday wearability.

How to Care for Your Dazi Jewelry

1. Keep It Dry for Long-Lasting Shine

While PVD-plated stainless steel is water-resistant, prolonged exposure to moisture can still affect its appearance over time. To maintain the gold finish:

• Remove jewelry before swimming, showering, or working out.
• Avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, and harsh chemicals.

2. Store Properly to Prevent Scratches

Storing your jewelry correctly helps prevent scratches and prolongs its luster:

• Keep your pieces in a soft jewelry pouch or a lined jewelry box when not in use.
• Store separately from other jewelry to avoid scratches, especially for pieces with cubic zirconia stones.

3. Clean Regularly to Maintain Shine

Dirt and oils from daily wear can dull your jewelry’s shine, but gentle cleaning will restore its brilliance:

• Wipe pieces down after each wear with a soft, dry microfiber or jewelry cloth.
• For a deeper clean, mix mild soap with warm water, gently scrub with a soft brush, and pat dry with a clean cloth.
• Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can wear down the plating.

4. Handle Cubic Zirconia with Extra Care

Some Dazi pieces feature cubic zirconia stones, which add a touch of sparkle. To keep them looking flawless:

• Clean gently with a soft brush and warm, soapy water to remove buildup.
• Avoid dropping or knocking your jewelry against hard surfaces to prevent damage to the stones.

5. Wear with Care

Dazi jewelry is designed for everyday wear, but treating it with care will help maintain its beauty:

• Put on jewelry after applying makeup, hairspray, or perfume to reduce chemical exposure.
• Avoid excessive bending or pulling on delicate chains and clasps.

Jewelry Care Guide

Dazi Jewelry is crafted from high-quality 925 Sterling Silver and Gold-plated sterling silver. With proper care and maintenance, it will last a lifetime. Sterling silver can tarnish over time, so we recommend using a silver polishing cloth regularly to prevent tarnishing. To keep your jewelry in top condition, store it in a zip lock bag when not in use to avoid scratches and tarnish.

Remember to remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, or applying perfumes and lotions, as this helps preserve its shine.

A great tip is to make your jewelry the last thing you put on in the morning and the first thing you take off in the evening.

Top Tips

To help you care for your Jewelry
POLISH

USE A POLISHING CLOTH
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time due to its reaction with sulfur or hydrogen sulfide in the air. To prevent tarnish buildup and maintain its shine, regularly polish your sterling silver jewelry with a silver polishing cloth. While this will keep the silver gleaming, it won't remove scratches.

SILVER DIP
Using silver dip can cause issues with necklaces and bracelets if not rinsed thoroughly. Any leftover dip in the clasps or chains can damage the jewelry over time. Always follow the instructions carefully when using silver dip.

Important: Never use a dip on jewelry with intentionally oxidized designs, such as our mix tape charm, as it could damage the detailing.

CLEAN

A safe and effective way to clean most jewelry is by mixing a small amount of mild liquid soap with lukewarm water. Use a small, soft brush (a toothbrush works perfectly) to gently clean your jewelry. If the piece is especially dirty, allow it to soak for about 10 minutes. After soaking, rinse thoroughly with clean water and gently pat dry with a soft, clean cloth.

PROTECT

Jewelry can corrode when exposed to moist or wet conditions, especially when combined with warmth and air. Perspiration from wearing jewelry is a common cause of corrosion. To protect your jewelry, avoid wearing it in the bath, while swimming, in the sauna, or during sports activities.

It's also important to keep jewelry away from makeup, hairsprays, creams, and perfumes, as these can accelerate tarnishing. Avoid contact with household chemicals like bleach and ammonia, as they can damage the metals.

A good rule of thumb is to make your jewelry the last thing you put on in the morning and the first thing you take off in the evening to help preserve its quality.

Enamel and Resin

To add Color to our designs we are using hand painted enamel and a small amount of Colored resin.

Enamel

Enamel is hand painted onto silver as a Colored paste, then heated to a high temperature over over 1500 degrees to fuse the Color to the metal, creating a Colorful coating - much like a glaze on pottery.

RESIN

Epoxy resin is made up of 2 liquid parts, that transform into a high shone solid when mixed together - we add Color to the resin to create unique designs.
